History Rewari Sweets

Rewari Sweets came into existence by the vision and toil of late shree Banarsi Das who himself born and brought up in Rewari city which is located at south-west Haryana. Rewari has always been a foodie’s paradise, and especially for the sweets’ lovers. Some well known sweets which are close to each one our hearts like Barfi, Gajak and such other mouth watering sweets have been quite famous at Rewari since ages. Infact, the traditional sweet, Revadi is named after Rewari, for, it was quite famous in the city. Shree Banarasi Das, who grew up while observing this fervor of people for the Rewari’s sweets, made a vision to bring this taste and sweetness at every part of the country.

He established a small dairy farm at Rewari, named Bhadawas Dairy, where he used to sell milk products and make sweets with milk, sugar while flavoring with Desi Ghee. The sweetened condensed milk substitute recipes became so famous not only in the entire Rewari city, but rather, he started getting orders for the sweets from capital city, Delhi, Mumbai, Rohtak and other parts of the country. Initially, Shree Banarasi Das used to travel from one city to another to deliver the products, but as the demand arose, Shree Banarasi Das established an outlet at Delhi in 1968 by the same name, Bhadawas. Later, he changed the name from Bhadawas to Rewari to proudly represent the city he belongs to. Since its inception in 1968 till date, all the sweets are cooked in Desi Ghee which makes them even tastier and healthier.

Since its inception, it has been just a word of mouth which has today made Rewari Sweets a well known name in the capital city.
